Meet Byron Embry

/

I'm ready to roll up my sleeves and work tirelessly to improve quality of life, strengthen public safety, and ensure responsible growth that benefits everyone

I’m Byron Embry

For almost a decade, my family has called District 16 home.  This community is where we’ve established  a community within a community that’s always focused on helping each other.  Because of this, my passion to work towards a better future for all in District 16 has led me to run for Commissioner.

I’m not running as a career politician. I’m running as a neighbor who believes leadership starts with service, accountability, and showing up for the people you represent.

Service Has Always
Defined My Life

As a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, my service experience has shaped who I am and how I lead. The Marine Corps infused important core values into my life including integrity, discipline, teamwork, and accountability. Those values are not just words to me. They guide every decision I make.

My military service taught me the importance of responsibility, trust, and putting the mission before myself. I carry those lessons into every part of my life, including my commitment to District 16.

Leadership Through Experience

Professionally, I’ve spent more than 14 years leading multiple teams, and that experience has shaped my “people first” approach. Focusing on teamwork, building strong connections, and delivering results has earned me a few awards along the way — but honestly, the real reward has been learning how to lead with clarity, accountability, and a sense of purpose.

Those same attributes are needed in local government. Serving on the County Commission requires collaboration, fiscal responsibility, and the ability to make thoughtful decisions that positively impact families, businesses, and neighborhoods across Wilson County.

Investing in Our Youth and Our Future

Beyond my professional career, I am deeply invested in the next generation. For the past three years, I’ve had the privilege of coaching and mentoring youth at West Wilson. Working with young people has reinforced my belief that leadership is built early through guidance, accountability, and positive role models.

Investing in our youth is not optional. It is essential to building a stronger, safer future for District 16 and all of Wilson County.
